Release #2: The First Electric Guitar Ever Made Comes to [name of your town] Coming soon...[name of your organization] will present CFR recording artist Reverend Richard "Stonefingers" Johnson in concert, on [day & date], at [location and address of concert]. Doors will open at [time], the fun will begin at [time]. One of the instruments Stonefingers will be bringing with him is the first electric guitar ever made; a rare 1934 Rickenbacker Electro Lap Steel, nicknamed "The Frying Pan Guitar." First produced in 1932, 2,700 of these guitars were sold during the 1930's. At the time Stonefingers found his guitar, at a music store in the northeast back in 1975, it was only the third one known to have survived, and the only one in private hands. A few weeks after he found it, a collector offered him six figures for the instrument, an offer which Stonefingers turned down. Since the seventies, hundreds of "Frying Pan Guitars" have been found in attics and garages all over the country, and while the instrument is no longer worth six figures, its value has not diminished in Stonefingers' eyes: "I've had the pleasure of playing the Frying Pan in prisons, in churches, in concert halls...all kinds of places, for all kinds of people. Over the years, thousands of prison inmates and other folks have come to hear me play because they were curious about the guitar, and left with a lot more than they came for; a second chance, a new life in Jesus Christ. "I would like to personally invite everyone, whether they like church or believe in God or not, to come to the show. We're going to have a good time."
